Getting around in Stockholm
Stockholm has one of the worlds best public transport networks. Tripsteri App includes instructions how to use public transport in Stockholm.
Traffic jams are not a rare sight in overcrowded Stockholm, which is one of the worlds only capital cities that does not have ring roads. So, we advise to leave your car home and to utilize one of the worlds best public transport networks. The easiest time of day to travel is between 9am and 2pm. Alternatively, choose the metro, train or tram, which are less affected by car queues.
Stockholm also has public ferries – which operate even in the winter. The public SL ferries leave from Nybrokajen and Slussen harbor.
A top up travel card is available for purchase for example from 7 Eleven and Pressbyron-kiosks. Get a day ticket if you intend to do more than four one-way trips with the card within 24 hours. The same SL-card works on all public transport modes: busses, trains, metros, trams and ferries. The tickets can also be purchased on SL’s own mobile app.
In Stockholm, you can go almost anywhere with public transport, by biking or by walking. Tripsteri app includes also on-time public transport journey instructions.
