Getting around in Helsinki
Moving around in the center of Helsinki is easy by foot. In the summer, yellow city bikes are a great way to move from one part of the city to another. You can rent a bike with the same card you use for all other public transport. Trams and busses are also good for moving around in the center.
The famous orange metro takes you to East-Helsinki, all the way to the Vuosaari beach, or to the neighboring city of Espoo.
If you need to rent a car, the best way is to use a collective driving app (such as Drive Now or Go now) to rent an ecological electric- or hybrid car, and just pick it up on the street.
The Helsinki public transport network is wide and sprawling. It’s not always easy to know which vehicle to use, where to hop on or which combination will take you to your destination. Tripsteri App provides a journey planner with the vehicle of your choice from your location to any place in the app, including a timetable.
